This Beneteau Oceanis 320 is a part project which has been modified to suit her present owner and will be appealing to those who would consider a liveaboard boat. The main changes have taken place in the saloon with the removal of the chart table and repositioning of the galley area. This was to provide more living space in the saloon and make it more conducive to relaxing on board.
The boat spent most of its time on fresh water in the Lake District. When she was brought to the coast in early 2018, she had her standing rigging replaced, anodes changed and launched for the season. During the Winter and Spring of 2018/19 she was placed ashore when all antifoul coatings were removed and after sanding was treated with 3 coats of primer and 3 coats of topcoat antifoul.
Mechanically she is sound and the Volvo Penta MD2002 has had a top end rebuild. She starts first time every time. Due to the removal of the chart table the switch panel has had to be resited and was a work in progress when the lockdown occurred.
The boat can be used and sailed in her present condition. This would be an ideal work in progress for someone to complete whilst enjoying what is a super sailing yacht.
Accommodation :
As previously mentioned, the interior of this yacht has been modified to suit the present owner. His intention was to make her more of a liveaboard with more accent on living space in the saloon and more comfort in the sleeping cabins.
The layout of the yacht is as follows:
Yacht is entered by the conventional method via the sliding companionway hatch with washboards. Three steps leads into the cabin with 6 foot headroom and generous beam. Aft on the portside is the double aft cabin with portlight and hanging wardrobe. Returning to the saloon and remaining on the port side is the repositioned galley area with sink, pressurised fresh water, sink and extended work space. Lots of additional shelved storage.
Moving forward from the galley is a carpeted storage area with flatscreen TV, built in electric fire and storage space above. In the bow is the completely renovated forward cabin. The interior was stripped, hull linings carpeted and the berth installed with storage below.
Returning to the saloon and working back down the starboard side is a large U-shaped seating area on which to lounge. below is the water tank and storage areas. Aft is a storage cupboard built into the hull before finally the heads compartment with Jabsco sea toilet and wash hand basin. This area is currently used for storage.
There is an Eberspacher heating unit mounted in the cockpit locker with ducting to the cabins. The control unit is mounted in the aft cabin.
