2006 Claasen Truly Classic 78 Kanteera is a Truly Classic 78, designed by Andre Hoek and launched as Hartbeat by the Claasen Shipyard in the Netherlands, in July 2006. With stunning, classic lines and excellent sailing characteristics, Kanteera is the perfect fit for the keen sailor that loves tradition and style but does not want to compromise on sailing performance.
The yacht’s hull and rig design was optimised to race in the Spirit of Tradition Class at regattas, and this design ethos was proven with a 1st Place victory at the 2014 Palma Superyacht Cup.
As well as excelling on the race course, Kanteera is also designed to cruise shorthanded with just an owner in command. Accommodation for permanent crew to assist with the operation of the yacht is included in the interior layout though. On deck the double cockpit configuration conveniently separates active sailors from the on-board spectators and those more keen on relaxing.
Kanteera’s interior has been refitted to be suitable for use as a crewed family yacht. A large part of the interior was resprayed in 2020 and at the same time restyling was undertaken to provide a more refined, classic look with bright white panels combined with varnished teak and chrome.
Sleeping capacity has been increased to 10 persons, which makes the yacht ideal for large families cruising or the possibility to accommodate race crew. All cabins have their own en suite bathroom. The galley layout has been optimised for functionality and a small laundry setup with washer/dryer and slide out folding table has been created.
On the engineering and systems side, most of Kanteera’s systems have been extensively overhauled or upgraded over the last two years making the yacht ready for many more years of reliable and safe cruising.
Kanteera has been maintained by two full time professional crew for the past two years. The current captain/engineer is available to stay involved with the yachts maintenance and any further optimisation required for the needs of her new owner.
Kanteera is currently located in Palma de Mallorca and is available for in person inspections or viewings via video.
