Description

HELENA 38 is a modern design with a traditional character. The lines, sail plan, keel and rudder, incorporate contemporary technology, but the HELENA looks like a much more traditional yacht and combines high performance, easy handling and the spacious interior with the characteristics of classic sailing yachts. The use of traditional shipbuilding materials combined with the latest building techniques significantly reduces maintenance, especially when compared to older boats on the market.

HELENA has a much more pronounced line than modern designs with a conventional positive rake transom and longer superstructure.

The sail plan and deck plan come directly from the newer van de Stadt designs with large lap winches, a 7/8 rig, large, fully battened mainsail with a high aspect jib, which provides optimum aerodynamic propulsion. This design not only sails well, but is also an eye-catcher around the world, and the pride of many owners who value good quality…

The hull of the Helena is built at the Kolibri shipyard and consists of a laminate of precious veneer layers and 2-component synthetic resin adhesives. The weight of this hull is about half that of polyester at equal strength. The skin shell has as backbone a continuous laminated keel beam on the inside. In the hull, the wrinkles are glued, to which a fixed double bottom plate is then glued. The space underneath is preserved beforehand with epoxy resins.

The warm mahogany interior has a very pleasant layout, with two spacious cabins at the front and rear of the boat. A spacious wet room with a washbasin and plenty of storage space. This applies to the entire ship by the way: there is more than enough storage space everywhere, suitable for a spacious inventory, needed on a longer voyage. The galley is well furnished and also the sofas and armchairs are spacious. There is a classically large chart table mounted with many options for equipment. The electricity is neatly installed.
