Price: 300,000 $ / Year 19755 / Location: Upper East Side

Offer Description:
There were only 24 of Henry Hinckley’s personal family sailboat designs ever built. Each one can still be found sailing/cruising in all corners of the globe, it’s a small club.

The Hinckley 49s are THE most comfortable, spacious and blue water passage capable cruising yachts in the 50 foot category. Her accommodations are as Henry Hinckley designed her with every creature comfort kept in mind.

Built in 1975, SV Irie has undergone several refits over the years. The most recent in 2019 by Hank Hinckley himself (Henry’s son) in North Carolina where she was converted to a blue water cruiser ready to sail from North Carolina to Greece: Her engine was completely rebuilt, outfitted with new electronics package, hardtop offshore cockpit enclosure, 700 watts of solar, and much more - Comfort of a cruiser with the performance of the pedigree yacht that she is - perfectly balanced.

The yacht has had several functions over the years. She is essentially a floating 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo and has served as a “vacation home” for our family in the Bahamas, the FL keys, and the Carolinas. She has also served as a business and is well known in her own right in the yachting industry: Generating $12k per week charter in Florida and the Bahamas, as an BnB in Boston ($8k-15k per week year round), AirBnB in Newport RI ($10k per week June to October), as a BnB in Florida ($8-15k per week year round), as a BnB in NYC ($15k per week year round), and most recently perfected running it as an AirBnB from a mooring in Rhode Island. The AirBnB account can go along with the boat and we can teach you the ins and outs of the business if this is your desired use for the vessel.

She is currently undergoing a refit to change her back to a personal cruising sailboat located in Rhode Island.

Why are we selling? We have too many kids now = too many kids activities and it was almost impossible to cruise the Islands this past year so we are seeing if there is anyone else out there who would like to continue her legacy - the best time to change hands is the off-season!
