Engineers of the Swiss project SP80 decided to create a sailing boat and with its help break the speed record under sail.
Which is now 65.45 knots. The goal was formulated – to sail faster than 80 knots and thus improve the record by 15 knots at once.
And so the team not only presented their project, but also tested it on the water. To do this, a boat, more like an airplane, was towed across the lake at maximum speed.
The next stage is races on sea water. Return to try in 2024.
